Nissan has unveiled a new electrically controlled steering technology, where the car’s tyres are digitally instructed to “turn left or right” rather than the brute force columns. The technology is expected to be introduced in luxurious Infiniti models next year. If you ever wrestled with a dropped digital connection- cracked phone line or may be an unexpected restart of a pc, then you might get worried. But Nissan claims that the new technology is much safer than the traditional steering, ““Even on a road surface with minor ridges or furrows, the driver no longer has to grip the steering wheel tightly and make detailed adjustments” Nissan states in a press release.
There will be a mechanical clutch system as a backup that will kick in case the electrical system goes wrong as there will be no time for “system aborted please try again later”.
