Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is being held in Las Vegas at the end of this month. It is a show for new electronics and technology and it attracts major companies and industry professionals worldwide. Audi is bringing a new Sport Quattro laserlight concept to CES. It was first revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September; the revised Audi Sport Quattro has adopted matrix LED headlights with laser light technology.

Audi will use this opportunity to showcase its advanced headlight design. The CES will be an opportunity for Audi to showcase its advanced headlight design. Within the headlight cluster, the outer element generates a low beam light by using matrix LEDs which is the same tech which debuted on the facelifted Audi A8 and an aperture mask, while the inner element produces the high-beam laser light.
Audi points out that these laser lights can illuminate the road for a distance of up to 500 meters, adding that the laser high beam has roughly twice the lighting range and three times the luminosity of LED high beam lights. The same advanced headlight setup will also feature on Audi’s forthcoming R18 e-tron Quattro Le Mans racer. The new concept also features a high resolution three dimensional display, which relays key information to the driver. It’s powered by a cutting-edge Tegra 30 processor from specialists Nvidia.

Under the hood, Sport Quattro laserlight concept is equipped with the plug-in hybrid mill from the original concept. The Audi engine for sale in this monster will be a twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 engine producing 690bhp and 800Nm of torque. It goes from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 189mph but the most impressive thing is, it can return 113mpg in the process.
