Mitsubishi’s opening chapter in the booming compact crossover market; the first Outlander didn’t have that much to like about it. It wasn’t that it was a bad car, it was just plain ugly. This third-gen Outlander is a massive leap from the first one introduced 11years ago. The third-generation Outlander which, MMC says, is “a new breed of car” and “very important” for its future.
Mitsubishi Outlander be available in both two and four-wheel drive, with the option of Mitsubishi’s 2.0-litre petrol or 2.2-litre diesel engines, with Co2 emissions of 130g/km and fuel economy of 56.5 mpg for the 2.0 litre engine. The engine in each case is Mitsubishi’s own proven 16v, 4-cylinder, delivering up to 150 bhp and 380 Nm of torque which is more than handy and capable of delivering the goods. A plug in Hybrid will also be introduced to the range in 2013. Prices start from £23174 – £31544.
