Subaru has announced that it will stop the UK sales of WRX STi and Impreza from 2013. Even though, the latest all new Impreza was introduced in Japan and America last year, it will not be coming to the UK. According to Subaru, the Impreza failed to increase its popularity in the UK market, therefore the new model will not be launched here. A spokesperson of Subaru said, “the new Impreza has been under evaluation in the UK for 12 months, but the decision has been taken not to bring that car to the UK because of insufficient demand.”
The high performer WRX STi, that was recently upgraded and the price was also dropped, will also be discontinued. Talking about the Subaru WRXi, the company’s spokesman said. “Currently we have no plans to bring in further stock after the current stock sells out – which should takes us to early summer depending on demand.”
These model being dropped is without a doubt a sad news, but Subaru wants to concentrate on the cars that have made their place in the UK market like the BRZ, XV and Forester. There are also some reports that the Subaru Legacy might also be on its way out but it is not confirmed yet.
