The new Ford Fiesta ST will be available to order from this April. It is set to compete with the Peugeot 208 GTi and Renaultsport Clio 200 EDC. Under the bonnet, the Fiesta ST is powered by a 1.6 litre Ford engine with EcoBoost technology. It gives the output of 180bhp and does the 0-62mph sprint in just 6.9 seconds. The top speed is 136mph. The claimed carbon emissions for the Fiesta ST are 138g/km with the fuel economy of 40mpg. The suspension has been lowered by 15mm to generate more torque. The Ford Fiesta ST will have a six speed manual gearbox. Although, a five door option will be available for the US market but UK buyers will have only a three door version.
The entry level ST1 is priced at £16,995, while the top of the range ST2 will cost you £17,995. 17 inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, tinted glass on windows, cloth Recaro seats, DAB radio and SYNC voice activated connectivity system come as standard. The ST2 adds LED daytime running lights, leather Recaro seats, climate control, an executive class Sony stereo, keyless entry and push start/stop.
