The recent BMW sales in February have confirmed that due to the good numbers the German manufacturer recorded, it managed to overcome Audi and regained the number one spot since losing it in 2005. The best selling models were the X1 and F30 3 Series. With a total sales increase of 7 percent in February and Audi registering only a 3.2 percent increase, BMW became the world’s best selling luxury car brand. The total difference between the 2 German companies was of only 407 cars.
The Munich based company on the other hand has to work overtime in order to keep up with the demand according to BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer. Raising demand from the Chinese and US markets helped overcome the worst numbers recorded in Europe since 1990 and pushed BMW to the number 1 spot.
