Audi has revealed an A3 Sportback which is powered by gas. It was revealed at Geneva and it will only emit 30g/km. It is equipped with two gas tanks which are stored under the boot floor and powered by a modified version of Audi 1.4 TFSI engine. Each gas tank holds 7kg of gas stored up to 200bar.
Audi A3 g-tron’s engine delivers 108bhp and 200Nm torque which gets it from 0-62mph in 11 seconds and a top speed of 118mph. Although the g-tron will work with ordinary compressed natural gas, but it will also run on an e-gas which is a carbon neutral synthetic gas created as the firm’s plant in Welte, Germany. Audi claims the A3 will do 17.7 miles per kg of gas with a range of 242 miles and emissions of just 30g/km.
