Audi A3 was the pioneer of the executive hatchback class when it made its debut in 1996. The A3 has tempted other premium car makers like Mercedes, BMW, Volvo and Lexus to join the race and has forced comparatively lower end cars like Ford Focus and VW Golf to up their game. The new Audi A3 has been launched at the end of 2012 and is expected to be even better than its predecessor. The Audi A3 engine for sale is based on the VW’s new MQB platform. The starting price is £19,000 for the entry level trim SE with 1.4l Audi A3 engine. The same trim level is also offered with faster and more economical 2.0 TDI diesel engine for Audi A3 and is priced at £21,505. The 2.0l Audi A3 engine is capable to do a 0-60mph sprint in just 8.6 secs and Audi claims the fuel economy of 70mpg and 106g/km of carbon emissions
Even the entry level version comes with a decent amount of standard kit like power front windows, air con, Bluetooth connectivity, controls on steering wheel, USB port and voice control. Audi A3 is by far the best executive hatchback and the German manufacturer is hoping that its premium image will certainly give A3 an edge over its cheaper rival the Golf.
