Most modern cars need oil changing after about 5,000 to 15,000 miles or 100 hours of running, whichever comes first. It is highly imperative to follow this schedule for oil changes or you must consult your cars’ owner’s manual for exact information.

When you are regularly driving your car for long trips, it is strongly suggested to check the radiator and have an even-handed mixture of coolant for engine. Usually coolant needs replacement after a defined time but in some cases it lasts long. You are required to keep a record of when the coolant needs replacement. Many engine experts suggest changing the coolant every year or depending on the terms set by your car owner’s manual.

3- Checking tyre pressure

Tyres are the ones directly exposed to air pressure, high temperatures, sunlight, cooling and ozone conditions. Obviously, they will automatically lose pressure after a certain period of time, and when they do, it wears them out pretty fast. It is very significant to test out the tyre pressure level on regular basis, as recommended in your car manual. Wheels also need to be checked for the alignment after every 30,000 miles; otherwise, it will cause some serious steering problems and shorten car and tyre life.

4- Fuel and air filters

Routine maintenance usually requires some parts to be replaced every time you get your vehicle serviced and most of those replacement parts are least expensive and easy to replace, but the dilemma is, they are mostly being neglected. Filters as in oil, fuel and air, are crucial for best performance of your car and they must be changed every time they are due and you need to make sure that your service men have replaced clogged air filters.

5- Regular schedule for car service and check-up

It is a very bad practice to put your car in a repair shop when it actually needs to be fixed. This bad habit or practice has to be squashed because just like us, engines also need to have a regular check-up, at least twice a year to make sure that every part is functioning well, in the case of any kind malfunctioning they could be fixed or changed at the spot.
